After a recent storm, my router was fried and HDMI1/HDMI1 of one of my televisions was fried. All of my devices are plugged into surge protectors but that only protects from surges on the power line and I presume my surge followed the cables.
How is the ONT grounded? (It has only a two prong plug.) Should there be additional surge protection and would that cause problems with MoCA? I will note that the splitter between the ONT, cable box 1 and cable box 2 is outdoors (due to legacy) and is cold water pipe grounded.
The ONT is supplied via fiber optic so a surge shouldn't come in from that line.
