Wireless options to stream Netflix on our TV

We want to start streaming Netflix via Verizon Fios. We have a newish Panasonic 3D plasma TV and blueray player. The blueray player does NOT have built-in wifi.

We are considering the best option for streaming Netflix on this setup:

- Get the optional Wireless LAN Adaptor DY-WL10 router for the blueray player

- Get a new blueray player with built-in wireless, and move this player to a different (less-used) TV in another room

- Install an adapter to pick up the signal from the wireless router in our office (two walls in between).

Which would be the best, long-term (considering how quickly technology changes) option?

Get a new Blu-ray player. The ones with built-in WiFi and Netflix are now dirt cheap, likely cheaper than an adapter.

I don't know what blu-ray prices are these days, but you could try an Apple TV ($99). I have one and it works great with my fios and netflix. It has more functionality than just streaming Netflix, and it's easy to set up and use. See http://www.apple.com/appletv/

Try a Roku box. Netflix plus almost 900 more "channels".

We have no desire to replace our current TV which is less than 1 year old. We want to stream Netflix on the one we currently have, and want to know which of the above options I listed is the best one.

AppleTV and Roku aren't TVs. They're tiny boxes that hook to the TV and give you a lot of streaming options - Netflix, Hulu, sports subscriptions, music, videos, etc. If you have a perfectly good Blu-ray player already, there's no need to replace it with another unless you really want to.

Ah! Thank you for the explanation. We're planning to add a new TV to our guest room and can move this blueray player there, making a newer blueray player for this TV a reasonable option. Otherwise, we would not consider getting another one. And we already get a billion channels and aren't looking for more features, just a way to stream Netflix.

They are less than Apple TV with same or equivalent functionality. My Sony Blu-ray player has Netfix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu+. plus many more more video services. It also has many audio services including Pandora. It has streaming from my PC (it is DNLA compliant). And it was less than an Apple TV unit.
