FiOS box to 2 TVs, HDMI and RF

Hello,

I connected 2 HDTVs to 1 FiOS box, one through HDMI and the other through RF Out. RF Out picture looks like SD on the TV. is there any way to upscale/increase PQ? Cannot split HDMI signal or run arritional wires, since all wiring, including the RF is laid behind walls.

RF output is the lowest quality picture available. If you are very lucky, and both the TV and DVR have oustanding electronics, you might be able to get 300 line resolution, and I emphasize the might part...260 is more typical.

Slightly higher quality is from the Audio and Composite Video outpus (3 cables, L Audio, R Audio, and Composite Video). You can use those asuming your TV has an AV input.

Better still is to utilize the S-Video output on the STB. That is capable of about 400 lines resolution.

None of these connections can provide better than SD resolution because they are strictly SD, although S-Video is immensely better than RF.

If you want HD, you probably will need to connect the 2nd TV with component Video cables, and the Audio Cables. I am not sure if HDMI output can be any different than Component Video output however. You can get up to 1080i with Component Video, and even SD channels will be delivered as 480i.

HDMI is bi-directional, which makes splitting it problematic.
