I need to move one of the TVs across the room but the line isn't big enough.

But I have a TON of old coax from previous providers and some couplers. Will this work if I take a coupler, screw it on the end of the cable that is now connected to the box, and then attach that free end of the extra coax I have to the box? I don't know what specific kind of coax it is. It was left over in the house from old satellite and cable installations.

Will probably work.
Easiest way to tell would be to add it before you move the tv.

Try it out, if it works, then you are good to go.

Unless you have a marginal signal quality now, it shouldn't be a problem. If the connections are good the signal loss won't be significant. It sounds like you are using a premade cable which is good. (If you aren't accustomed to making cables, it's not as easy as it looks.)

Other than connections the only concern is mismatching cable types. But what you have is probably OK if it was previously used for cable.
