Since the people that answer the Verizon chat don't want to actually answer my question, only sell me stuff, I thought I would try here!!

We are going to be setting up service in January, but, if we get the 25, and decide we want to move up to the 50, can we do that? I know, obviously, it will cost more... But is there a fee for changing since it's a contract? What if you go the other way and get a smaller plan?

Also, does anyone know if you've been with them as a wireless provider for years, do you get a discount for that?

While I cannot speak for Verizon and am just a customer, I believe normally if you "upgrade" services they will not charge a fee, however; your contract gets extended. If you downgrade services then yes fees will apply. I've seen advertised at times after 15-days is when the early termination fees begin, but not sure if it applies to both upgrading and downgrading services.

Go through the online process of ordering but do not submit anything until you are ready. Select to build your own bundle. This will allow you to see the difference in costs, contract terms, etc. The more you bundle, the more you'll save. Depending on what all you are purchasing, the difference may only be $5-$15, difference.

Once you bundle wireless with their other plans "Verizon One-Bill" takes effect if you so chose to do so (at least two years ago it was an option; may be a requirement now). There is a small discount for that. Again go through the process of creating your own bundle and all the discounts will be displayed.

This is not true at all. They used to make you sign a new contract when changing service, however no longer do that.

You can upgrade and downgrade anytime you want with no charge and retain the current agreement. The option is listed on the add/upgrade page and is usually selected as the default option.

The only time an etf would apply would be if say you had a triple play bundle and cancelled phone and tv and just kept internet. If you only have internet and upgrade/change tiers no fees will apply other then the difference is prices.

Also, one bill is no longer an option. Only current customers who have it, have it. No one else can sign up for it.

Yes you can change it anytime you want (upgrade or downgrade) with no fee and retain the current agreement.

The only difference will be the price per month. As long as you keep the actual service for the length of your contract no etf fees will apply, but yes you can upgrade/downgrade anytime you want.
