Slow channel changes on STB

Recently my STB has learned a new trick. It can take up to a minute to change channels. I notice it more often when switching between standard def channels and HD channels. Is this a result of a recent firmware update or bug? Is it a bad box?

There are other threads on this issue. Verizon is deploying a software fix that corrects the problem.
