What channel do I set my tv too??

Verixon set up my tv and remote together. However the TV got unplugged and now I can't find the right channel to get the cable to work on. I know this sounds stupid, like it should be 3, but I don't have channel 3. I have 3-1. Its a JVC TV/DVD Combo. I have set the TV to TV, and hit every channel, then set the TV to Cable and hit every channel, tried HDMI and hit every channel. I don't know what to do. All I get is Digital Channel Strength is low, or a blank screen. Don't know what else to do and naturally I don't have a manual for the TV or cable set up. Anyone who can help??

How is the STB connected to the TV? HDMI cable? A coax out of the back of the STB? If you're not using HDMI you're missing the HD capability of the STB and your TV.

If you are using a STB the RF out can be set for channel 3 or 4. Every TV I've seen can be set for channel 3. (3.1 is the digital version of 3) Try setting your TV to ch 3 manually using your TV remote. If it doesn't work try ch 4.

And if you can't get it to channel '3' not '3.1' then you will have to do another Auto Scan.

Normally you can access auto scan by using the buttons on your TV itself (your tv should have a power button, channel up and down, volume up and down and a menu)

You would press menu, and go to set up then channels and select analog channels. Your TV right now is doing Digital, and you don't want that. Also Remember Channel 3 is only used if the back of the cable box is plugged to your TV using a Coax TV cable.

If you look on the back of your TV where the verizon cable is, and If it's plugged with HDMI then there is no channel 3 selection. Also If It's plugged using Component, composite, S-Video or RCA Cables, then you also don't select Channel 3.

If you use one of those options then there is an input selector on your TV, and you have to select one of those options, like AV1, AV2, Component 1, Component 2, HDMI, HD Color stream. Depending what cable you used on the back of your TV, is how you decide what to select on your input selector.
