No cable TV in other rooms!!

So I just got my service hook up the other day, I have the Triple Play bundle and so far its great. My only issue is that I have two other tvs in the house for the kids and master bedroom, and when I plug those into the coax port in the wall I have no cable its just static. I have the coax cable coming from the router/modem to a splitter that is then ran throughout the house, my tv in the living room which has the FiOS box is all working just fine. The other tvs are SDTVs and do not need all the bells and whistle channels just the basic non HD channels, what do I do any answers?

Unfortunately as the FAQ linked above states, you can't plug the coax into a non Digital QAM TV. Your TV would have to be a newer one that has the Digital QAM tuner built inside of it for you to get anything.

If they are older TV's then you'll have to either get the Digital Adapters (3.99) or the SD set top box at 5.99

Wow thanks that has just relieved alot of my stress the last few days, so where would I get a QAM tuner or a digital adapter for that price would I get it though verizon? And if I were to get the SD Top box could I pick it up at a verizon or would I have to get them to install it?

NP, The QAM tuners are built in most new tv's, I find great deals at www.fatwallet.com for smaller tv's, or even amazon, BUT if you just want to use what you have with a digital tuner or an SD box. Then you get those from Verizon. You can either call and they will mail you one, or you can drop by one of their FiOS stores and get them there too.

With respect to hooking them up. The way the fios works is out of their main box is one main coax cable that goes into a traditional TV splitter.

So the main cable goes in the input, and then each of those 'out's' will be a coax cable going to the rooms you have or want. One of those outs is for the router, and then the others are for each tv. You can either do bigger splitter if you need to, or multiple splitters (like piggy backing)

So Find that thing, and then see how hard it is for you to run the cable yourself. If you have the time and energy to do it yourself, then you'll save a lot of money. I think verizon charges for each one extra room they wire. You can do it, a local electrician can do it, or verizon can do it. So call around and find whoever is cheaper.

I am a DIY kinda guy, so that would be a fun project to me, plus I like saving money, so I don't mind a little elbow grease. But each house is different, so pick your poison :]

oh, the difference between the digital adapter and the SD set top box.

The digital adapter has no clock. is small and compact. And only gets your subscribed channels. that includes hbo and premiums. Its a no frills no thrills set top box. that means it doesn't have on demand or a menu or a tv guide. you have to just flip channels and know where your channels are.

The SD set top box is a little bigger, has a time display and gets all your subscribed channels plus it has the menu system like your other set top box and it has the guide and the on demand. for the extra couple bucks i think it's worth it.

oh and those are per month, so either 3.99 a month or 5.99 a month.
