Good news. It looks like the problem is resolved. I see the route gets changed today.. instead of being route into Sweeden blah.blah.blah.telia.net. (Please see my previous post on Page 1 under my handle) Now, I see it being route to ntt.net in Japan --> Hong Kong (SAR)--> China
Very Thankful whoever is behind this to fix the route for all of us who lives in Brooklyn, NY (majority) Especially, my father in law is definitely suffering some sort of social website withdraw symdrome for the last 8-9 days.

Thanks! I talked to a Verizon representative but he suggested that this a routing problem from qq.com and Verizon can do nothing about it. I am not very convinced though.

I live in Brooklyn, NY and experience the exact same problem since 4/22/2014. I did call Verizon FIOS customer support and explained the sutiation where I have issue connecting to mp.weixin.qq.com. I also inform them my smartphone is on 4G LTE network and experience no connection issues. VZ FIOS Customer support representative (CSR) tried reboot my FIOS router for 2 times by changing to 2 different Public IP addresses. The tech. also had me to try pinging and do a tracert and it did not help at all. All these efforts are not getting me anywhere on solving the issues. The call did esclate to manager level and also to the VZ network team, the network team claimed their network is fine and there is no issues on the network's end.
At the end.... the only conclusion I got from the CSR is saying that this is not a VZ issue. The CSR thinks the server who hosts mp.weixin.qq.com is blocking a pool of VZ FIOS IP addresses.
I am getting frustrated and not knowing what to do at this point... I really don't want to use Proxy IP addresses to get around to access the site since I know most of the Proxy IP addresses are not safe to use. My father spents tons of time on using wechat .. if VZ FIOS can't solve this issue, I am about to jump ship to switch back to Cable Internet even though the speed is not as great as FIOS.
In case anyone is interested.. I am listing the ticket number NYEG0CMLZP. If anyone is having the same issue as I do, please try at least give a call to FIOS to complain this.. don't just sit and wait around.

Some of the failed tracerts show an odd Ip address for hop 11 - sjo-bb1-link.telia.net [213.155.130.211]
I would suspect that you may have an issue with the DNS servers you are using - I am using
Primary DNS Server :204.194.232.200
Secondary DNS Server :204.194.234.200
They appear to be Open DNS servers, for some odd reason in Miami
I you suspect a blocked pool of IP addresses, then release the router Ip address and get a new one allocated
To release and obtain a new address logon to the router and
select my network
then select network connections
then broadband connection
then settings
under dhcp lease select release and then immediately turn of the router
wait a few minutes and power on the router
Once the connection is established you should have a new IP address

Hands from Verizon to Telia, to China Telecom. Since the trace for many is dying at Telia where it should hand off to China Telecom, it's best to work with the site administrators, as mentioned above to report a problem. Often times the site can work with their bandwidth providers or datacenter to fix or work around such problems.

Comparing with other working one, it seems to me that the ip address of last two hops reverse? Don't understand what is the issue? is that possible one dns-domain name can be represented by a pool of ip address, even different in the first number in ip address?

I have the same problem too.. When Im on LTE it works fine, when at my friend house(Fios too) and my office over wifi, thats fine too.
So, not every IP is black listed. I hope they release it soon.
