ActionTec ebc2500c MoCa issue

I know there are a lot of threads about these, which I've read and didn't really help me specifically.

My computer behind an ECB2500c magically loses internet. ECB2500c Coax light stays on, ethernet light stays on, but it just stops working. Power cycling it seems to temporarily resolve, and I get 10ms latency and fully FIOS 75/35 download/upload speeds.

ActionTec Router "My Network" even shows the desktop system as active, not sure how thats being determined though.

It's happen 3 times this morning already and I don't know where to look.

Setup is pretty simple:

FIOS > 5-2150mhz 2-way splitter that came with ECB2500c (Out-1) > ECB2500c > Desktop computer

FIOS > 5-2150mhz 2-way splitter that came with ECB2500c (Out-2) > Verizon 5-1675mhz 2 way splitter (Out-1)> ActionTec N Router

FIOS > 5-2150mhz 2-way splitter that came with ECB2500c (Out-2) > Verizon 5-1675mhz 2 way splitter (Out-2)> Tivo Premier 4

The only thing I can add is that the adapter is in the furthest room away from the entry point, in a 3 story townhouse.

Thoughts? I was going to load the actiontec software up later and try and go into config mode and see if there is anything useful there.

Check you MOCA LAN stats. You may have a coax or splitter issue resulting in a unsatisfactory or marginal MOCA connection.

Do you know if the ECB2500c has a signal meter on its control panel? I haven't had a chance to plug into it yet and snoop.

I called ActionTec support yesterday and didn't get much out of them.

FYI to all...

1. You can view the MOCA signal strength in the control panel for the ECB2500c. You need to download the config software, flip the device into Config mode (physical switch), then renew an IP on the machine that is running the software and directly connected to it via an ethernet cable. The advanced tab will show the signal strength.

BUT, this doesn't appear to work on my Windows 8.1 system running IE 11. ActionTec support couldn't help that out. The advanced tab basically goes blank, and I think it's due to my IE version.

2. I blindly changed the channel on the Verizon router to 1500mhz, and did the same on the ActionTec device. It was previously running over 1150mhz. Things seem to be stable for about 18 hours now, which is way longer than it ever worked before.
