Just in case anybody missed it, last October Sony issued a product recall for several lines of 40 inch TV's:

I only mention it because I think it is important that safety issues like this be circulated among those that probably enjoy their entertainment media a bit more avidly than others, and hence are on a forum that enhances that experience. I have also posted on the Idea Exchange a recommendation that a "Product Recall" thread be started. Consumer Reports magazine has had such a feature for years, and I have found it useful. Although it's not strictly a VZ issue, it is all interrelated; and if we keep our electronics in top form, then the VZ experience is made all the better.
