Motorola QIP 72161 locks up frequently

My Motorola QIP 72161 STB locks up frequently when playing back recorded shows. It started doing this when Verizon updated to the new software and it has slowly been getting worse. At first it only locked up randomly if you paused a recorded show while it was still recording. Then it was randomly when you paused a recorded show. Today it locked up when pausing live TV. The only way to get out of it is to change the channel or go back to the DVR menu and stop the DVR. This is really frustrating. Any time you pause anything you need to be ready for a lockup.

I have unplugged and rebooted the STB several times. I have also unplugged both the STB an Router. Nothing really makes a difference. My DVR is usually not more than 50% full.

Any ideas?

Verizon, at this point we have all tried the onboar diagnostics on our boxes. This is a bug in the new interface that needs to get fixed. Stop telling us to do things that do not work. I am pretty savy about fixing electronic stuff that does not work. I have tried everything I know. Since I cannot mess with the software, you mess with it an fix it. At least let us go back to the previous interface that was working.

Did you guys mess with the buffer or RAm or ??? is inside the box. It really seems like a computer that locks up when their is not enough RAM, or when the TEMP files get too many. If you can design a whole new interface, you should be able to fix this little bug!
