Multi room dvr vs 4 hd dvr's

Hi. Present setup is 4 HD DVR set top boxes. With spouse and kids each DVR is usually close to full recorded capacity. If I understand the Multi room dvr system only one box would act as the dvr. Does the recording capacity of the one dvr increase? If not the Multi room doesn't seem to meet our dvr recorded program needs. Also how does Multi hub play into this? Any help?

Depending on the series of the DVR (QIP6416 or QIP7216) those both have a 160gb harddrive. We have a new version DVR (QIP7232) that has a 500gb harddrive. You could upgrade one of the existing DVR's to the QIP7232 and then trade out the rest to an HD STB (QIP7100). To updagrad to the higher capacity DVR you need to go to Verizon.com and login with your primary user. There you can upgrade the DVR and also setup the return of the other DVR's as well and swap to the 3 other STB's.

Keep in mind you can only stream 1 HD show at a time per dvr. ( or Two SD shows). If you have one Multi room dvr and 3 stbs, viewing is limited on those stbs and you want to watch hd show stored on multi room dvr. Also, when I mean STBs, I mean all boxes (Dvrs and standard stbs)
