input jacks

Is there still now way to enable the input jacks on the front of the QIP6416-2?? People have been asking for this from day 1, and now I NEED that function. I have an older tv and this would be by far the easiest way to hook up a new blue-ray player since the tv has no HDMI input....

HDMI is really the best way to connect a Blu-Ray player. If your TV doesn't have HDMI, that suggests it's not an HDTV, in which case, why bother with a Blu-Ray player?

The yellow video jack on the front of the QIP supports composite video only (if it were enabled). Composite video isn't HD; it's basic SD. I'm surprised your Blu-Ray player even has a composite output. Can you post the model number?

If you don't have an HD TV, then a Blu-Ray player is overkill. If you don't want to replace your TV with an HD TV, you may be happier trading your Blu-Ray for a DVD player. Then, you can use the old composite cables to connect to your TV. If you need more switching, you can buy a simple AV switch box from your favorite retailer that will let you switch between the QIP and the DVD player.

Don't care about the blueray, just wanted a simple way to get Netflix via wireless LAN... had no idea it couldn't be hooked up to my old tv. Guess I'll have to see if anybody makes a unit with composite outs. But my big gripe is that other cable companies DO enable the inputs on the front of the motorolla stb's.... Verizon chooses not to, as simple as it would be! Before I spend all my time exchanging gifts or buying expensive converters, I was checking if there was finally a way to get the inputs enabled....
