Fios tv pixelation is starting to upset me. Tried everything I could think of to fix.

I've read recently how others are experiencing the same issue I am having.

During fast action or a flashing screen due to say lightning effects on the movie/show I get pixelation. The pixels break up during fast movement around bodies and objects, then come back together again. It's very fast. When its not fast action or with a lot of effects going on the picture looks great.

I have changed my splitter, disconnected and reconnected coaxial cables, changed out HDMI cables, changed all kinds of picture and motion enhancment settings on my tv (even though it happens on both tv's that I have), reset the ONT, the router, checked for interference in my house, checked the signal on the dvr menu which says good, tried putting my dvr to 720p instead of 1080i, etc..

You name it I tried it. I can't think of anything else that I can do so this has to be a fios issue.

The sad part is I've had fios for 4 years now and this just started happening 2 months ago. My picture was always smooth up until that point.

What's more sad is I already resigned with them for another 2 years (before this started happening) and even upgraded everything. Very dispaointed to be experiencing this.

From what I've been reading people who experience this, have techs come out and yet they get nowhere.

Has anyone who has gone through this actually found a solution?

I thought I'd give an update since I was the op.

At least in my case my issue is in fact macroblocking so this is an issue with compression on the fios and networks side so not much that can be done. Things have improved some but not 100%.

Reset and tighten all your connections. Remove unnessasary splitters. If you still seeing pixelation you may need new wiring.

Already did all of that. I only have 1 splitter in the house for the main tv, the router, and my bedroom tv. I even went as far as switching out all of my coaxial cables the other day and still no fix so only the ont and verizons wiring in the ground hasnt been switched out.

If the signal shows "good" though they wont just come out for free. Its very possible what I'm seeing is macroblocking instead. Watching Sleep Hollow at the end with all of the lightning effects is just terrible though. Trying to figure out which it is.

You're not alone. Our service is absolutely horrid as well. The ONLY thing you get out of Verizon is 1- reboot the box, 2 - the problem is in the house. To disprove the “in the house” theory, I ran a new triple shielded RG-6 cable from the Verizon splitter directly to our TV. The Verizon diagnostic failed on most values. Now if we only use one TV, the Verizon diagnostic readings show that the system is poor on a few, marginal on the balance.

My question to the Verizon support person in my home at the time was - tell me again how is this in my home, when the cable I just ran point to point is better quality than what Verizon has on their truck. His reply was honest, and I agreed with him totally!

Comcast is aware that Verizon has extremely poor service and picture quality, which is why their price structure remains high the Pasadena Maryland area. When I discussed the poor service and horrid picture quality with friends in Baltimore County Maryland, they too have exactly the same problem - wow!

In the end it’s clear that Verizon has inferior infrastructure with sub-par equipment that delivers poor quality to the customer at a gold plated price – and they’re fine with it! Vote with your feet people!

same problem. Just happening on set HD channels SD works fine.
