I have had a Tivo for years and I am wondering if I can get a CableCARD from eBay to avoid the monthly rental charge. The CableCARD that I have now has a part number of 514517-006-00. I see the exact same card (Motorola M-CARD) on eBay for $6.
I have been reading a number of outdated forums on this topic and just wanted to get an updated opinion.
