My contract was renewed back in December without my authorization. It was obvious to me because my bill went from around $190/month to about $260/month. I had a significant incentive that was supposed to continue through February of this year -- the unauthorized renewal of the contract negated the incentive and Verizon was simply unable to correct the mistake. Since December I have been on the phone with Verizon several times. I was asked and answered the same questions way too many times. I finally was in touch with someone via email and he was able to help me in January and February but he neglected to return my last two emails. I did just finally get my March bill resolved after another lengthy phone call. The idea that contracts are being renewed without approval is very questionable. If compensation is tied to renewals, it's especially questionable.
