my TV has an Optical audio out. I have a optical to analog converter that worked with the Comcast box but not the FIOS box. How do I fix?

What are you trying to connect to TV optical out?
Verizon stb do not allow audio input. Totally not clear why you would want to output Optical from you TV to the STB. Many of the STB do have OPTICAL audio output that you could input to your TV (assuming you can't use HDMI input)
