Arris vms 1100 bottom left display icon flashing

Hi,

The bottom LEFT (updated - not right) Display Icon started flashing a few days ago. I don't know what it means. It is flashing on all the set top boxes. I unplugged the main one, restarted, and it's still flashing. The manual says there are four display icons, Message, recording, home network and software update. As far as I can tell it is either the home network or software update. Can someone please tell me why it started flashing all of a sudden and what I need to do to fix it? Thanks!

I am having the same problem, however, the flashing has continued for several days. Is it possible that it takes that long to update the software?
