Setting reminders for upcoming shows without recording it tv with dvr box.

Before I got the dvr boxes, I was able to set a reminder for an upcoming show. The tv would display a message about 5 minutes for the time and ask if I still wanted to go to the new show or I could dismiss it.

I don't see the option with the dvr box. I don't want to record it, I just the tv to tune to the channel.
