Getting 70MB Download After Fios Installation

Just switched from Cox to FIOS. Cox had my router buried in the basement. Was getting about 150MB download speed upstairs. FIOS did the install, put the router on the second floor and a repeater in the basement. Now, I get about 70MB download upstairs. Anything that can be done? A second repeater?

Make sure you are connecting to the 5G wifi network. You probably won't get 150 mbps on the 2.4 wireless N network.

If the router was used previously you must do a back to first use on the customer owned router. It seems to lock in the cable companies settings dhcp etc.

if the router is a Quantum Gateway Router it’s junk. WiFi terrible. Get a better router with external beam forming antennas. You will be glad you did.

and if you don’t use the Quantum you save monthly rental fees of $144 a year.
