Back in June, after having paid the full price for HBO for a few months, I went to cancel through the web site but was offered 50% off for 12 months, which I accepted. My bill at the end of June reflected the 50% discount.
A month later, in July, I subscribed to Showtime, which was advertised at 50% off for 12 months. On my bill at the end of July, however, I was now only getting the 50% off Showtime, and again paying full price for HBO. I tried contacting two different Verizon reps via chat, and both gave me the vague explanation that my account wasn't eligible for both discounts. So I have a few questions...
Is this a new policy, or is there some unknown factor that determines whether I can get both discount? Last fall I received the 50% off discount for both HBO and Showtime simultaneously for several billing cycles.
Why wasn't I warned that adding Showtime at 50% off would eliminate the HBO discount?
If I could only get one of the two discounts, why did I not retain the larger HBO discount?
