Issues with Gigabit/Playstation Vue

I had Comcast recently, but my son's been driving me crazy to get Playstation Vue. And since Verizon advertised the Gigabit connection, we went with that.
The problem? The router was installed downstairs (2lvl home of about 2100sqft), because we don't have an ethernet connection upstairs. It's also connected with coaxial as well to the router. So that's set up downstairs. He then put a bridge upstairs, right next to the tv. Tv works ok. It's a streaming service, but we get lots of interuptions, and it says it's due to internet connection. My son-in-law was also having horrible service problem in the back of the house. So at a half-way point, he installed something called a LINKSYS RE6300. He says it's supposed to work as a bridge, just like the one Verizon put in.
Now here's the funny part. Whenever I run the stupid router test, it shows GREAT numbers! Always! But the back bedrooms still get horrid wi-fi reception. He'll be doing his online gaming, and then disconnection. Again.
Does anyone know what I can do to make this work? It's getting really frustrating, to the point I want to tell them to take their crappy service and stuff it. Except that I ended up buying the modem, and haven't even had their service for a month yet.

Any help and ideas would be most appreciated. I tried looking up this problem, but I'm thinking you have to speak Computer to have understood most of what I saw. I'm not an idiot, but I'm not used to having to deal with this, so didn't have much of a clue.

I am assuming he put in a repeater?

however a repeater will give very low numbers, but is useful for basic non speed use.

now here is what should be done or should have been done is you can have ethernet installed in the locations you need. Verizon techs can if asked run the ethernet for you and install a wall plate. The other end can be direct connected to the router or to a switch.

this way you will not have speed issues.

Now your wifi will never be as fast as a direct connection. But it will handle higher speeds plugged in via ethernet.

there are also companies that can do the ethernet installation for you but the prices vary. In my old home I drilled the floors and put in wall plates but it took me some time. But you probably can do it yourself.

Google or YouTube can or may have step by step instructions.

When you had Comcast, did you have good WiFi coverage?

if so, where was their router in relation to where FiOS router is located?

I pretty much only use my phone. Laptop's always been fine. However, in the words of my son in law...

With Comcast, the game playing was always slow. But it was a constant slow.

Verizon, when it works, it works great! But it's constantly on again, off again. One minute you're playing, then it freezes up.

Comcast was only coaxial hookup, so router was on 2nd floor next to the tv. Same floor as the bedrooms.

Verzinon, needed both coaxial & ethernet, so is on bottom level. Right beneath the tv

Comcast uses a different technology than FiOS.

you could use a moca adapter to extend Ethernet upstairs and hook a router up that should give good WiFi coverage.
