sitting watching a movie this morning, the starting time of another movie later on the same channel we are recording while watching, and whammo... the freaking DVR ends the movie we are watching, jumps to the beginning of what we are recording, and now we cant see the movie we were watching.
i HATE FIOS DVR... and have a long list of issues..
we recorded the next movie because we have to go out.
we had enough time to watch the movie we were on, but had to pause for a while to take care of a few things.
why dump what we were watching to start the movie we were recording?
why have a machine wich you have to rewind or jump forward to fix the sound from getting glitchy
why not let us record what we have, rather than tell us we cant if it passes the end time?
i cant wait till my contract ends with FIOS and i go back to directv...
their dvr has no freaking sound problems, lets you record what your watching if you have it on even if it passes the end time, does not dump what your watching when movie starts, does not have to be restarted or reset to get its behavior to go from worse to not so good (which is normal for fios)
then there is the idea that we pay for lots of channels, but have to pay again to watch movies that we want to see even though they were free earlier that night... if FIOS wanted to be like netflix, then be like netflix.. it doesnt pay to have the channels because they are not putting on the movies in hopes that you would buy or rent them instead. their recorder works so badly that you dont get them that way either... a proportion of the time the movie recorded has dropped the first half, or not started right...
i would highly recommend directv, and would NEVER recommend fios to anyone given the wide margin of difference between the two accross the board.
FIOS cable/dvr is the WORST... i am so sorry that i switched from directv...
cant wait till my contract is over and i can keep the internet fios speed which is great, and get rid of this trash system for watching movies...
