Add second router, coax only, no ONT access

I have an actiontech router connected only coax. I can't run cat5 to it. I have phone, tv and internet. I want to add a second router, keep first router working and retain all tv functions. Tv has a direct coax feed from the ONT.

How do I add the second router and retain all other features?

This is definately something that can be done quite easily.

You will need a small device called a MoCA Splitter. Here is a link to one on amazon: http://a.co/clV1nVS

If you purchase the FiOS network extender (as talked about below), I believe this device is included.

You will need to put this small device on the cable coming out of the wall going to your TV. Run one line of cable to your Verizon set top box as usual, and the other to the new router / range extender.

So what device can you use as the 2nd router? You have two options here. The first is a pre-configured device from Verizon called the Network Extender. It can be purchased / rented here: https://www.verizon.com/home/accessories/fios-network-extender/

This device would be plug and play. Just plug it in, and you'll have a connection that goes over your coax wire. Now if your like me, and your very cheap, you can also purchase the older Verizon actiontec routers off ebay for as little as $15-20 and configure them to work in the same way.
