Has anyone else had issues with Verizon offering a discount, and because you accept it, you “re-contract” and lose all your discounts you originally had built into your first contract, making your bill higher?
I recently had moved and signed a 2 yr contract at my new home. I had several new customer discounts making my bill around $135-$140 a month. About 3 months into this contract, I contacted them via chat one day to find out if I had the same internet and basic channels, would my bill be lower. After a discussion, they offered me a $4 discount per month. I accepted and did the email acceptance as well. My next bill came and it was $200!!!! They told me after I accepted that discount, I entered into a new contract which made me lose all my new customer discounts that I received for being new. I feel like they only offered me that discount just to get out of all the discounts I originally had and I had no idea I was “re-contracting”. They tried to make up for it by giving me a $200 credit toward my next bill and putting a note on my account and trying to put my contract back to the way it was. I was told several times it would be taken care of and my bill will go back to $130-$140 a month. Two months later, nothing has changed. I was told I need to pay my bill or else I would get Late charges and I would be refunded for the difference that I paid. All I got was the full month credit. I want my bill to go back to the way it was and I am wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and what they did about it. I’m stuck in this new contract and I’m getting no where with the customer service and I am about to go the legal route which I don’t have time for. Any advice?
