I'm moving from a Win7 to a Win 10 pc. I have a Verizon dongle in a USB port on Win 7. Do I just move the dongle to the Win 10 pc or is there something else that needs to be done for it to work?

This is a new one to me. A Verizon dongle? What is it that is plugged into your computer via USB? Telephone? Tv? Something else?
You need to explain further,
My router is across the room and the Verizon man connected a dongle onto my pc for me to get internet.
Ah I see.
you just connect it to your pc and it should obtain an IP address.
most new computers alas do not come with the ethernet connection built in. So you use the Gigabit ethernet adapter. It should work
I assume the dongle is for wireless?
If so, you may want to verify that tehre is a driver for the dongle for Windows 10.
And you will need to know your SSID and password to reconnect to wifi.
