I cant change media client name of any of my IPC100 or VMS1100

I recently upgraded to all new boxes and DVR. When I try to change the client name of the box, such as, mater bedroom, bar, kitchen .. i get a message that says name is already in use. That is untrue. I am forced to add a 1 after every name, kitchen1, bedroom1, bar1. I can change the names sucessfully online but not at the box location. These seems odd but more so its annoying. Has anyone experienced this issue and solved it? Just curious.
