G3100 and WCB6200Q: anything definitive?

At the moment, I have a G1100 (which I rent) with two WCB6200Qs (which I own). However, I'm moving, and I have to return the G1100. At the new address, I can get only a G3100 from Verizon, and I'm not comfortable buying a used G1100, because so many of them seem to be ones that people should have returned to Verizon and thus become unusable.

At the new address, the coax leaves the ONT and then splits into 4: one will go to the STB, one will go to the G3100, and the other two will each go to a WCB6200Q (on different floors). I will have 100/100 speed, so getting the maximum speed achievable from the different devices is not the issue. I just want them to work together, and I need to be able to use both ethernet and wireless connections to the WCB6200Qs.

I'm looking for specific information (i.e., step-by-step instructions, preferably) about how to make the G3100 and WCB6200Q work together—or I want to know definitively that they will not, in which case I will have to buy two G3200s (but I really would prefer not to have to spend the money). I have read conflicting information in this forum and elsewhere on the net.

Can anyone provide or point me to such specific information? Or provide information about alternative devices?

Edg1 is saying that an ECB5240M can overcome G3100's MoCA incompatibility with WCB6200Qs.

You will have a G3100, LAN Ethernet to ECB5240M Ethernet. ECB5240M Coax to WCB6200Q coax.

This is a $55 + tax + shipping investment over two E3200 $400. E3200 also has better WiFi and literally counts as two WCB6200Q stacked together.

TL;DR

Actiontec WCB6200 (NCS non-brand specific version) with .re firmware is compatible with G3100 over MoCA 2.5, but the connection is unstable. Users report frequent ping drops and excessive latency.

Verizon WCB6200Q is incompatible with G3100 over MoCA 2.5. This is due to hardware and firmware problems in WCB6200Q.

ECB5240M is bonded MoCA 2.0 compatible with Verizon WCB6200Q. Unstable with Actiontec WCB6200 with .re firmware. Other Actiontec NCS firmware seems to be fine.

These are not final words on WCB6200Q, as Actiontec is still actively making revisions to their firmware.

I'll defer to the CLs for a more thorough answer, but SON is impacted by mating a 3100 with a WCB6200Q. Due to the use of an older chipset, there is a speed limit when using a coaxial cable connection as opposed to an Ethernet connection.

The WCB6200Qs are definitely not compatible with the G3100. A possible work around is to buy to Fios Network Adapters(ECB5250M) then they could connect to the 6200Qs with ethernet.

E3200s have two ethernet ports. That link takes you to the G3100 which has four.

That configuration applies to prior routers & extenders....routers have four ports and extenders have two.

Well, if I have to buy new stuff, might as well get the E3200s, although they are darned expensive.

That sounds messy and complicated, and I don't think it will work with my current space.

The E3200s, though more expensive, sound like less of a headache, and sometimes that's worth the money.
