Internet seems kind of slow.

My internet seems kind of slow to me. I thought It would be lightning fast. I have the 25/25 package. When I surf pages, it seems to take a while to download. Also a friend told me to go to speedtest.com and my speeds are like 13 mps. I surf wirelessly, could that be the problem? I have two computers in my network that connect wirelessly, and I have an xbox that is connected wired, but i barely go online with it. Any suggestions. I chatted online with a verizon tech and they weren't able to do to much, they said they boosted the signal stregnth of the router, but i dont see a noticable change.

The wireless is probably the problem, so give this a shot. You're goal is to change the wireless frequency or channel, to a stronger one, so change the wireless signal. you can do that in the router. open a browser, and go to http://192.168.1.1, user name is admin. and the password is most likely the serial number found on the service tag of your VZ router unless you changed it.

Once you login succesfully, go to the top and hit wireless, then on the left basic security. then go to option 3 which is channel

1, 6 and 11 and are the only channels you should try.

So it will likely be set to auto, change it to 11 and put the check for keep settings even after reboot (Directly under the channel) and then hit apply.,

after you hit apply, test your connection out, if you notice a difference, leave it like that until the problem happens again, and if it happens again, go back into the router, and try channel 6, test it out. and then finally 1 if the first two don't work.

It also could be a few simple things, so try these as well.

Clear your Cache and Cookies then try it out.
Run Internet explorer with no add-ons then try it out.

Reset Internet Explorer Web Settings back to defaults and then try it out
Try a 2nd Browser like Google Chrome or Firefox (possible browser issue can be identified by testing in a 2nd browser)
Test it from a 2nd machine like a laptop, friends or work computer
