The service on the Easter Shore of Virginia is pathetic.
Verizon doesn't mind selling 3 Mbps to a customer but can't delivers the service.
Each time I call for support, I get some apologetic ticket taker in India and we go through the whole help desk dance.
I've talked with lineman who tell me there is no way Verizon can support DSL past the 3 mile limit where the serving area interface is located.
If I treated my clients this way, promised to deliver a solution and then gave them a run around but still billed them, they'd drop me or accuse me of malpractice.
Service usually collapses between 4 pm and midnight.
Now, service is almost non existent throughout the day.
It seems apparent that Verizon has no desire to increase the infrastructure in the CO or along the roads where they have serving area interfaces. I doubt Verizon even uses regenerators along the line.
I imagine that if Verizon did enhance the infrastructure by increasing SAIs and providing regenerator instead of amplification, they would provide a better customer experience for DSL users.
