OPEN LETTER TO IVAN SIEDENBERG{edited for privacy}
Hello Ivan,
I responded to an ad from Verizon to get a 2nd line (complete with long distance service) for $9.99 but I was charged $109.99 on my bill. I was never told about an installation fee even though I inquired about one when I called in responding to the ad. I called customer service today and talked with a supervisor named 'Tracy' who informed me that because a technician came to my house to configure a phone jack, there is a $95 charge for that.
Ivan, contrary to what Tracy said, there is no way I would have been able to use the 2nd phone line unless a Verizon technician came out. The technician did something to the box outside my house and configured a phone jack in my house. Tracy, the supervisor told me today when I called to complain about the hidden $95 fee that she would not remove the charge.
If you care about this situation, respond to this email. It is well documented on the internet that Verizon does this type of thing regularly and you don't care about customer service issues at all.
