I'm moving and will be dropping my verizon.net email account in favor of an aol.com account. Is there a way for me to automatically forward all email received in my verizon.net account to my new aol.com address?

Yes. Go to Verizon mail, Settings, Email settings, Forwarding.
Forwarded email will not show up in your Verizon in box.
