Westell 7500 Internet Disconnect

Hello everyone, I been silently browsing the forums for some time now & never thought I'd have to post but this past 4-5 days my DSL wireless router has been disconnecting from the internet every 10-15 minutes. i usually just reboot the router & figure it would go away but the problem seems to happen through out the day. If anyone would let me know how to repair this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Visit http://192.168.1.1/ and choose System Monitoring, Advanced Monitoring, and then choose Transceiver Statistics. Post up the information you see in that page. Next, go back to the Advanced Monitoring page, and choose System Logging. Post the contents of the "All" log. If the log is too big to post, use http://www.pastebin.com/ to post it up. You can also save the log as a text file and attach it to your post using this forum's attachment feature.

If you need a Username and Password to login with, try the following:

Hi there, I'm also having the same exact issues with my Westell A90 Wireless Router.

It seems as my gateway is constantly going down and I have to restart it to regain the connection.

But this is happening too frequently and calls into Verizon hasn't help as well.

This afternoon it was already crashed 5 times since 12pm.

I have reset the router back to factory defaults and setup my wireless again but same issues.

Here are my stats from the router:

I also have the same problem. Many internet disconnects in a single day for some time now. A technician came to my home last week but no improvement. When the internet drops, I will have to manually restart the modem(Westell 7500) in order to get internet connection again. One thing that I have noticed is that most of the time that the internet drops is connected to dsl speed. When I am able to reconnect and check the transceiver stats, the dsl speed will be either higher or lower. I don't know what this means, if anything, but any help or info would be appreciated.

I am aslo having this same problem for the past couple of months but been happening alot more these past 2 weeks and its a real pain. I reset my modem so many times so far its crazy. Called verizon over 70times so far same answer everytime "line test looks fine, there should be nothin wrong." As stated above some times it doesnt happen for like a week or so, then it just keeps happening till it decides to stop either every 5hrs -4hrs or every like 20-30min the most anoying ones are the ones that happen every 5min or 1 min after reset which i dont get. Been looking around for help but never found any yet, there was alot of posts about this happening to other people on dslreports but no one found out whats going on yet.

Forgot to mention i dont have a 7500 i use a 6100 and it seems to affect me too >.< Had this same connection for about 6 years now and never had this prob it only started a couple of months ago

ps:: It seems to happen even more often when im acutally doing something like downloading, watching you tube vids, torrents, ect but when iim not using it, it seems to not disconnect so i find that kinda strange

Chewy, your DSL line has low margins on the downstream which is what would be causing your disconnect issue. What I would do in this case is take your modem out to your NID to see if the statistics improve. If you don't have access to a NID, see what you can do with your inside wiring that might improve it if it isn't already where it should be. This includes checking the jacks for corrosion, dirt, possible shorts, and bad connections inside of the jack. As for the two posters above, they need to provide their modem statistics in another thread made by each of them. We can see what the issue is from there.
