I have 1 Gig Fios Internet Plan. When service was started, I got G3100 router and E3200 Extender. Technician installed a Splitter into my main router and a Coaxial Cable to Extender in my office upstairs. I connect my Kensington SD5750T Thunderbolt 4 Dual4K Dock to my Laptop using standard RJ45 Ethernet Cable. Internet connection is lost frequently and have to reboot. I also tried connecting RJ45 from Extender directly to Laptop, same result.
Fios tech support told me Coaxial cable is slow and should be replaced with Ethernet Cable? I told them I rely on Fios' tech for what's the best option. They are asking for $99 charge for tech to come and fix stuff.
They asked me to try CAT 8 cable for more stable connection.
Has anyone tried connecting G3100 to E3200 via Coaxial cable or Ethernet Cable? What was your experience? I run speed tests. At night I get 940 down and 900 up. But that's useless if in the middle of my Teams calls there is no Internet connection...Frustrating like hell... Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
