I did all the research I could but I can't get my MoCA 2.5 ethernet adapter ($99 version) to connect correctly. When connected to desktop (windows 10) over Cat8 cable, 2.5GLan port, Gigabit service (only Fios internet service in the house) I'm not able to download information it seems. Everything, even the internet to some extent shows "connected", but it's super slow, and I'm not even able to stream on sites like Hulu or Espn. My email doesn't even pull new messages in outlook. But when I unplug the ethernet and connect to WiFi the all the sites/apps work perfectly. Speedtest.net also shows significant increase when connected to MoCA Ethernet, but when I run the test on fast.com (powered by Netflix) it kind of looks like it times out almost, and the upload speed is in the single digits.
Could it be some kind of firewall issue?
I read the G3100 Router is MoCA compatible and I don't need a 2nd MoCA adapter as such, just the one connected to the coax outlet in the separate room as the router. Could that be the issue?
Any suggestions? I chatted with Verizon support just now and they said Coax is just super slow and you would be better off running a long ethernet cable from the router since my computer is on the same floor, but room on opposite side of house. (Which makes no sense to me, and why would you even make a coax solution like this in the first place if you would run into that issue)
