Outgoing Emails Denied as Spam - Keeping me from finding a new job

I have been trying to send a couple of emails to apply for a new job (having been unemployed for almost 2 years) and now these emails are getting rejected as being outgoing spam. Both emails are direct to recruiters with my resume attached and a link in the message body to my portfolio. I tried sending them as Verizon instructed to spamdetector.update@verizon.net but that did nothing.

How an I supposed to find a new job if Verizon rejects my emails applying directly to companies and recruiters?? This is ridiculous on Verizons part. What is the solution??

I will give to you a fixs (work arounds), that I know of

Fix #1

a) Find another e-mail Provider. For example Gmail

b) Sign up at that other e-mail provider.

c) Use that other e-mail provider for your e-mail.

Fix #2

At this time, forgot about e-mail. Instead use, for example...

#1 Post Office to send letter(s)

#2 Go in person to job fairs / to the places that you want to work at.

Fix #3.

At this time, forgot about getting the desired job that you want.

#1 Get any job that you can

#2 Latter on:

a) Try to get the job that you want

b) resign / reduce your hours at that work place that you got a step 1 (Get any job that you can).

c) Increase your hours at the desired job that you got.

Unfortunately that isn't a viable option for me as all the recruiters and dozens of websites that I am registered with use my Verizon email address.

I don't understand why this is happening now and why I have never had this problem over the past two years of sending identical emails.

I know that there is a way to forward all e-mail from Verizon e-mail to your other e-mail.

#1 Then when you reply to their e-mail you tell them what your new e-mail address is.

#2 OR there must be a way to update with the website what your e-mail address is, and you are not seeing it. I find it very hard to believe that you can't update the e-mail address.

If you can't update your e-mail address on that/those websites, then that is something that you could suggest to them to fix.

I don't want to seem ungrateful, but your input is really not helpful in solving this problem with Verizon.

As stated in the Spam FAQ page, you will not get any response when sending the message to spamdetector.update@verizon.net for review. You attach the message that you are unable to send, and they review it. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the filter will either be updated to allow the content that was previously blocked, or it will be determined to be a legitimate block and no changes will be made.

Some troubleshooting steps you can try:
If you have a signature, try removing one line at a time from it and attempting to send the message again. Some signatures look like "ads" to the filters, apparently.

If you are using a pop3 client (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.) try sending your message from the verizon.net website. If this resolves the issue, then it is something that your client is adding to the message that is causing it to be blocked.

If the Subject line of your message has a whole bunch of "Fwd: Fwd: Re: Fwd:" try removing some of them.

Remove any links/URLs from the email one at a time to isolate if one of them is causing the block.

Also, there are workarounds like using another account (like Gmail) to access your verizon.net account via pop3. This should allow you to send/receive mail using your verizon.net address, but not using Verizon's server.

I sympathize with you. Having a similar issue this morning.

Not a spammer, usually send emails to one address, not many. Being forced to wait until I am taken off of a blacklist

and moved to a whitelist. Takes me to a standstill.

Never had problems with FIOS or Verizon email before.

Try going to www.isnotspam.com and sending your email to them. they will identify any red flags, and tell you what you can change to make your message go through without getting bounced back.
