Hello - hope someone out there can help me. I have followed all of the instructions for converting Outlook contacts to a csv file - save as type CSV, making sure the field names/column headings are correct, etc etc. I still get the same error message:
You uploaded an unsupported file type. Verizon Webmail supports Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Windows Mail formats.
I have read the "Verizon NonSupport" message on this forum & followed all instructions carefully but to no avail.
I managed to successfully import these contacts into gmail using the same csv conversion instructions. I then thought I could work around it by converting those same contacts from gmail to csv and importing into Verizon, but no dice with either a google csv format or an outlook csv format.
I suspect that the problem is that when the file is converted into a csv format using the Outlook 2007 import/export option, it is "marked" by Windows as an Excel file. Even when it is opened in Excel and Saved As file type csv, it does not tack the .csv file extension onto the file - it's a csv file alright, but the file icon is still an Excel icon. I have even tried renaming the file with a csv extension. No success.
At this point, I should just give up, but I'm a stubborn girl. Any ideas out there? Thanks!
