iPhone question - verizon.net mail shows sender as "Verizon

I just got an iPhone and set up my email which is through verizon.net. When I send an email, it shows the sender as Verizon, with my email address following it in parentheses. I'm concerned that this might trigger some spam filters. Any ideas as to how to show either my name as the sender, or at least just my email address?

System Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Select the Verizon Account you setup -> POP Account Information

What do you have listed under "Name" in this section? It should be your name, I suspect it says "Verizon". Change it.
