Call Block Questions

I don't understand why calls that contain no name or number are not always blocked. Isn't that the point of Anonymous Call Blocker? And while the system effectively blocks the numbers I list, the phones still ring once before the calls are rejected. If the calls are being blocked in the network, why does my home phone ring at all? Can't that be suppressed?

Not really. Anonymous Call Block was designed to block calls from someone who withheld their number by pressing *67 before dialing the number. Solicitors find ways to use call centers located in places where the number is never provided. Those calls will go through.

The phone company can't stop them. But Nomorobo is pretty effective. Check it out at the following link.

Nomorobo only works for digital voice. You have to allow simultaneous ring which is not available for non-digital subscribers. It's also not available for cell phones. Even with Nomorobo I still get robo calls. I report these to Nomorobo to help the system get 'smarter' but you would think with the zillions of dollars Verizon has, they could provide this service rather than a guy on a shoestring doing this for everyone because he's as frustrated as we are that the DNC list is a joke, and Verizon took YEARS to do something as customer friendly as increase the block list from a measley TEN to 100. If Verizon won't stop spoof and robo callers the block list should be unlimited. Why can Verizon recognize that 000-000-0000 is a fake number only so you can't 'block' it, but won't stop it from calling through?

my phones do not ring when Verizon's incoming call block stops a phone call from a number we added to the block caller list....they do ring once if i only have the number blocked in the cordless phone's own 30 number block bank

i tried to add 000-000-0000 manually to list but couldn't, however i was able to add it from the call log paGE.if you go to the call log list and click the call from 000-000-0000, then click the "call block" drop down, then the "add button" it doesn't let you add 000-000-0000 to block list?
