Suggestion not to send twice the number of emails from Verizon email to Outlook 2010

Hi, Lost access to email last week when Verizon had some technical issue on 9/11.

They sent an email explaining the problem, but I didn't receive it because Verizon email was down. When Verizon was finally up again the emails didn't get forwarded to my Outlook program.

I finally found out how to correct the problem & receive email again on Outlook.

It would've really been appreciated if Verizon didn't deliver over 4,000 emails to my Outlook folder-double the amount of messages that were in my Verizon email folder!

When Verizon messes up it really messes up.
