Up to about a week ago, speed was 6.8mbs. Now it's 4.8mbs. Tech support insists the line is fine -- after some apparent trouble in my area which they claimed prevented them from checking the line, but not affecting me -- and offers no explanation for the drop in speed. The downstream speed listed on the 192.168.1.1 page has also dropped from it was, as of this slow-down. It's now 5216kbs. Used to be listed at over 8000.
Has Verizon has actually lowered the speed? I'm in the 3-7 tier, but suddenly I'm at the low end of it.
Nothing to do but switch to cable, since Verizon is unresponsive?
