Anyone know which channels are available in the Sports Package?

I was on the Verizon website and saw a Sports Package and a Sports Package for the 2010 Extreme Package. When you scroll over the names, it basically tells you the price and some of the channels available like The Tennis Channel, Gol TV, NBA Channel, NHL Channel, etc.

For the Sports Package, it says you get 24 channels for $14.99 a month.

For Sports Package Extreme, it says you get 18 channels for $9.99 a month.

However, it does not list all of the channels in either package.

Does anyone have either package and can you tell me exactly what channels are offered? I am trying to see if it is worth getting either package or if it is more cost effective to get the Ultimate Package if all of those channels would be offered in the Ultimate Package anyway. I am trying to see if there are any sports channels only offered in these sports packages and not available if you just order one of the regular packages like Ultimate. I am also trying to see what the difference is between the two packages (what is offered in the Sports Package that is not available in the Sports Extreme Package).

I guess I am finding it hard to believe that either of these packages are worth anything since it would probably be cheaper to upgrade to a better channel package like Ultimate. I am trying to figure out what the advantage would be to pay this much for a sports package only instead of upgrading the channel package.

I would appreciate any information anyone can provide. Thanks.

I know someone that bought this because they don't have HD sets, and since the channels are only included in certain HD packages. If you buy these channels seperately, it's the sports channels in the low 300's plus NHL Network and NBA TV. The only reason the HD Extreme sports package is less is because some of the channels are already incuded in Extreme.

Thank you for the link. However, when I go on there, this is what is says in regards to the Sports Packages:

The first one is for the Sports Package. The second is for the Sports Package Extreme 2010.

As you can see, it does not give a full listing of the channels. It gives a few, and then says "and more." I think there needs to be a complete listing on the website. I don't want to call and have to engage in a 20 minute conversation with someone offering me the internet security suite package, the games package, and free HBO-Cinemax for 3 months like happens everytime I call. I was hoping to just get the information online or from someone who already has one of the packages.

I agree. I waisted an hour on a "chat session" with a CSR to get absolutely no where trying to find out "EXACTLY" what channels were included with FIOS Sprots Extreme package. I could only get him to list it in the chat session. I could not get him to send me anywhere that I could see the complete listing of the channels that are included in the package. What's up with that?

You customer service sucks!!! Made a big mistake leaving comcast.....The internet is just as slow, if not slower!!! AND actually, verizon.net is the slowest page of all!!!!

I was on hold talking to a dag'on computer for 8 minutes before I was disconnected and had the pleasure to hear a "busy" tone...I almost put my phone through the wall!!!!!

Yes, it is a little strange that they won't just list them on the website, but as you can see, it is not very difficult to get them to list them for you: You(22:13:03): Please list for me all 24 channels included in the sports package. Note each location may have a different list. I know in the NYC local area the three Fox College stations are in Extreme HD the new edition BUT not the older Extreme HD package. Why does Verizon makes this SO difficult for customers is beyond me?

in 2009 Verizon said that CBSSports would be part of the Extreme HD, obviously that is not true.

It is really cheap on Verizon to say I have to pay $10 for a SD channel. Sorry, most of the others are already in the package and watching a fishing channel is not my bag.

so essentially you are paying $10 for CBSsports SD!

Come on Verizon, I pay $200 a month as it is, bundle it in and quit nickel and diming me!
