DIGITAL VOICE MAIL AND HP FAX MACHINE not receiving faxes

One phone number used for calls and faxes. I was able to send and receive faxes when I was using an answering machine. I have now turned on the Verizion Digital Voice mail service and I can't receive faxes. Help. Any ideas? I have been reading so many different things about and they have left me confused.

I have the same problem, did you ever figure out how to fix it? i'm waiting for a fax and have to sit here all day so I can press receive when it comes in to bypass voice mail. Ugh.

What I did do is put my hp fax machine on manual so that if i know i am going to receive a text i have to press the button on the fax machine to receive it.
