FIOS One Bad Audio

I have FIOS One programmed on my TV to come on at 6am during the week on the Analog stations. I'm hearing horrible crackling and audio drop-outs. I've tried going through the box, tuning to channel 501 and 1 with the same audio problems. I also see freezing picture. When I switch over to CNN, channel 600 I do not hear the audio problems.

(the long version) FIOS supplies channels in encrypted format to be decoded by the cable box. There's a duplicate, unpublished set of channels passed unencrypted for TV's with QAM tuners (I think "analog" was a mistake - they're digital signals, but not encrypted). If you split the RF signal and pass it into the CATV connector of your television you can bypass the cablebox for a few dozen channels, such as FIOS-1 News.

Why do this, you ask? My TV, like most I assume, has a timer to wake up on a channel but not wake up on video input. So, if you use your 1080p TV on an HDMI port through the cable box you cannot use the timer feature of your television to wake up to the news. But, if you split the signal (at the danger of reducing your bandwidth or frequency response) of the signal from the ONT, it's possible to utilize the unencrypted channels for the timer input of the television.

You need to have a 1ghz splitter and use RG6, but even that doesn't assure you won't have problems.
