After switch to AOL, can only send small e-mail attachments

The title says it all: after completing the switch to AOL, I can only send tiny attachments. Any attachment in the MB size range, and my e-mail just sits in the Outlook outbox, with Outlook reporting "preparing to send/receive" but nothing ever happening. Currently I'm trying to send an e-mail with a 7MB atttachment.

I disabled e-mail scanning from my AV, but that didn't help. Disabled the Norton Firewall, and it didn't help. Disabled Norton Auto-Protect, and it didn't help. I also set my router to No Security, and that didn't help either.

This started when I switched to AOL (following the instructions) because Verizon is abandoning its e-mail service.

Problem is most likely in your Outlook settings.

What updates have you done to Outlook since the migration ?

Everything else is the same (no recent updates) as before making the switch to AOL, therefore the prime suspect is that it's something related to AOL.

That said, here is the information you asked for:

Operating System: Vista Home Premium SP2 x64

Browser: Pale Moon 27.2.1 x32

E-mail coient: Outlook 2007

Just sent 11.1 Mb of .jpg from my Outlook to my gmail email.

and Forwarded same to my VZ AOL email.

Still believe solution is by fixing your Outlook.

Thanks for the link, but I looked around widely on that Microsoft site and didn't find anything that helped. I have also fiddled extensively with my Outlook settings to see if any combination of settings will do the trick. Nothing yet.

Have you managed to successfully send OUT a large attachment from a VZ/AOL account in Outlook? If you have, then I'd be curious to know your Outlook settings for the following:

"Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" -- is that box checked?
Internet E-mail Settings --> Outgoing Server tab --> "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" -- do you have that box checked?
Same place, Advanced tab -- What port number are you using for the "Outgoing server (SMTP)": 25, 465, 587, something else (and if so, what)?
Same place -- What did you select for "Use the following type of encrypted connection": None, SSL, TLS, or Auto?

If you've been able to send out large attachments from your VZ account via Outlook, I'll try to replicate your settings and see if they work for me.
