While there do not appear to be any short term plans to add Fox Soccer HD, I can assure you that the folks who are in charge of TV content are CONSTANTLY working with channel providers to add new and exciting content to our FiOS TV package. I know that there have been many requests to add this channel come launch and that the good folks at Verizon will everything they can to add it. I will keep you posted if/when any information crosses my desk!

I, also, want to drive the effort to add FOX SOCCER CHANNEL HD to the FIOS lineup. I know there is a LARGE audience out there waiting to watch soccer in HD. PLEASE, have it available on 3/1/10! Bob

Truth be told, there is no official way and in the past the best course of action has been to just call both the service and channel providers and voice your opinion that way. However, I can pass the message along to management so that we make sure it goes through the proper channels. I've actually already done that and will be sure to keep my ear to the ground and if I hear anything I will let you all know.

Hello, Just wanted get in on this subject of Fox Soccer Channel going HD in March, Im a big soccer fan and watch most of it on FSC, and like the other fans on here, have been waiting for this HD move for quiet some time, so i'm hoping for some good news on this asap, and at the same time i'd like to add that Fox Soccer Plus is to be launched on the same day, so if this helps in the effort to get it on the air then great , after all, if its not in HD then it can't truly be the beautiful game. Yes, it is time for Verizon to step up and add FSC HD on 3/1/10! Now, we only get 1 soccer match televised in HD (English Premier on ESPN2), and in HD, it truly is "the beautiful game". I also hope there is a way for FSC/ESPN2 to televise some of the upcoming Champions League matches in HD. Of course, we all are looking forward to ESPN's complete coverage (in HD?), of this year's World Cup this June! Bob
FSC has been saying that HD is coming in January. These posts mention March. Did I miss something? Either way I am also very hopeful that FIOS steps up and offers this programming with the Extreme HD package.
You bring up an interesting point...where will FSC-HD (or any new HD channels) actually end up? One might have to subscribe to a high-priced package (such as Ultimate HD) to get them.
a new HD channell can easily be added to the Extreme Package lineup, but it appears that only the Fox Soccer HD Plus channel might qualify as a premium tier, not FSC HD. Let's hope we get FSC HD at the least! Bob

I already get (pay for Extreme), so if FSC PLUS shows up there I would be happy. Of course I would also like to see FSC HD show up. Im a FIOS customer and would hope the best TV Service provider in the nation steps up to the plate and offers this on time, so I dont have to switch back to COMCAST.

FSC HD went live today, 1/28...not on FIOS yet. FSC+ will be a new channel starting 3/1/10.
I would like to ask for Fox Soccer Plus channel - which goes live March 1st. I understand the Barclays Premiership and other english soccer competitions are no longer going to be carried on Setanta Sports. As such, I will be cancelling my suscription to Setanta (a premium channel) and would roll over to a subscription Fox Soccer Plus. Please ask programming @ Verizon to make it happen.

It went live yesterday and while I don't expect it today, I do expect it as soon as reasonable. We already have MLB HD, NFL HD etc. There's a strong demand for it!

I would like to add my voice in encouraging Fios to carry both Fox Soccer Channel HD and the new Fox Soceer Plus channel which goes live March 1. I am a subscriber to Setanta Sports and when that channel goes away on February 28, some of the content is supposed to be carried on Fox Soccer Plus. I enjoy Setanta a lot and woul love for the new Fox channel to be added so I can continue to receive some of my favorite programming. I do not want to go back to Time Warner, but they have already announced they will be carrying Fox Soccer Plus so that may be one of several factors affecting my decision.

The HD logo is now on the regular FSC, so I would think Verizon could add the channel to the lineup fairly easily. it's just a matter of them choosing to do it. FSC Plus HD in March would be awesome as well. C'mon Verizon, step up for us and bring us both FSC channels in HD!!!!!!!
I would also like to request that Verizon pick up FSC HD and Fox Soccer Plus. I currently subscribe to Setanta and will be canceling my subscription March 1 when the EPL etc is no longer shown. According to Fox, Time Warner Cable will be offering both channels (I live in Dallas) and I will swap to their service if I have to (I also called and they confirmed that they will be offering FSP but the price wasn't decided yet) - although I would prefer not to. I am happy to pay extra for Fox Soccer Plus (similar to Setanta at $14.99) and would expect FSC HD to be included in the Extreme HD package which I already subscribe to). I have sent an email through the 'request a channel' service and called Verizon customer service. I really hope Verizon picks up both channels as I don't want to change provider (I have TV, internet, and phone service with Verizon) BUT I love watching soccer (I am English) and will cancel my subscription (I am outside the 12 month period) if Verizon don't offer it March 1st. I appreciate you passing on my comments to the people who make the decisions regarding programming.
Arsenal vs ManU tomorrow and it's going to be in HD however not for us- why do these companies drag their heels. come on verizon, get on with it- we will pay extra, we aren't like those saps at Time Warner- but if you don't get us our HD and time warner does, then I guess we are all going to switch back because we won't need setana anymore- come on lads, get a move on!!!!
I want to echo what many have requested in this thread. We won't need Setanta anymore after February so I don't see the real reason not to add the two HD channels for FSC by March 1st.
It also stinks to know that Comcast over in DC has the FSC HD channel already.
I don't think it is just a matter of we won't "need" Setanta after February 28 or we will be cancelling our subscriptions at that time, it's that we won't have a choice. Setanta Sports USA stops broadcasting after that date and will cease to exist.
Fox Soccer Plus has acquired some of the rights to the programming from Setanta. So we will be losing some of what we are able to watch now unless Fios picks up Fox Soccer Plus on March 1 when it goes live which would seem like a natural option (but I am sure there is more to it than that). Obviously channel 1009 will become free on March 1.
Fox Soccer Channel HD is another matter. Apparently they began broadcasting in HD this weekend so that would ne more of an immediate need. There are many, many folks on soccer boards all across the country who are peppering their providers for both FS+ and FSC HD, let's hope the Fios community picks it up.
Fox Soccer Channel in HD is a must-add. From this thread and others it is very clear that a large number of customers really want this channel. And considering you have HD channels devoted for tennis, golf, and hockey, it only makes sense to add soccer.

Very simple one for me. Verizon's been dragging its feet on far too many channels we'd want in HD. Still no BBC America HD, for example. The move to HD soccer should have been clear by now and be openly on the agenda. It isn't. Providing something to make up for the loss of Setanta content should have been clear by now. It isn't.
We ditched Cox for failing to get the last World Cup in HD, so it won't be a problem to ditch Verizon and head for satellite if they don't get this sorted. As a customer, then, I'll just make it clear here that this is the kind of thing that historically has represented a dealbreaker for us and will do in no short order if there aren't clear announcements by mid-Feb

I think you need to call and demand it!!! They don't have it scheduled, but they are "looking into it". I informed the operator Verizon is looking at a loss on the east coast......folks will change their providers to either Comcast or Dish, including myself. I'm giving them until next week....
Well it looks like Dish Network will be adding Fox Soccer HD on February 10th. Only a week away.
I ditched Dish Network for FiOS, but, unless I hear that Verizon is adding this channel within the next few weeks, I guess it's back to Dish.

If you surf any of the cable/sattelite company forums you will see there is a LOT of demand out there to get FOX SOCCER CHANNEL HD added to their lineups. I don't think that FIOS and other's realize the popularity of soccer, and whoever adds it will reap the benefits of subscriptions. FIOS, you say you are the leader, show it and ADD IT NOW!
In August, Fox announced plans to deploy FSC HD in late December, then pushed back to January. It bemuses me that for all the preparation, Verizon does not have this in HD. Verizon should have had this scheduled already. If Comcast, Dish and Direct TV has it, I'm definitely switching providers, considering the only channel I really watch is FSC. I don't want to hear about March 1st......Deploy NOW!!!! Truly poor response on Verizon's and FSC's part.
FEBRUARY 16TH. This should be the target date for FIOS to have FSC HD because this begins the round of 16 of the BEST club soccer competion in the world, the UEFA Champions League, and Fox Soccer Channel is carrying the games, some live some same- day delay. DO YOU HEAR US FIOS???? If not broacasting FSC HD before that date, I am gone to Comcast. Methinks FIOS has no idea of the power of the soccer fans in the world, and are ignorant to our pleas. Will they be sorry when there is a mass exodus if they don't add FSC HD......
Well here I am watching FSC without an HD feed. It kills me each time they flash the "FSC now in HD" across the bottom of the screen. Verizon...please at least acknowledge, in some way, what your plans might be? Where any possible negotiations are with FSC? SOMETHING! Thank you.
I just watched the Tottenham v Aston Villa game on FSC , channel 84 and it "appears" that feed is a combination of SD and HD. It was defintley NOT true HD (i.e. ESPN2's derby this morning, Liverpool v. Everton), but it was better than the normal SD feed. Maybe FIOS received the HD ffed, but broadcast it in SD? Just throwing in another vote for FSC HD in time for the Champions League. Seems like a lot of people voting for this, so I feel pretty confident Verizon is going to add it -- especially if Comcast already has it.

I'd love to see more channels in HD (BBC America, E, G4 off the top of my head) but Fox Soccer Channel is the only channel that could make me switch providers from Verizon if the competition added the channel and Verizon did not. Add another vote for FSC HD!

I'm trying to get my buddy to switch from time warner cable to fios so I can get some referral points. He's even bigger soccer fan than I am and not having fox soccer hd is the dealbreaker for him. Yesterday, I watched AC Milan vs Man Utd on channel 576 (Comcast Sportsnet HD) at perfect quality and wish we could see the same on FSC, FSC+ etc.

Verizon, please add HD offerings from Fox Soccer Channel! I have been a happy FiOS customer, but this is the one big miss in your lineup. I watch, especially, your EPL coverage every week and just endure your low-res offering for this. The more field you can see, the better with soccer and HD would make that possible. And, of course, the clarity would bring your soccer coverage up to par with the other sports offerings in your lineup.

I would like to throw another voice into the call for Fox Soccer HD. I already e-mailed Verizon and told them this was a deal breaker for me. The only two things I care about on TV are the Phillies and soccer. If someone else offers FSC in HD before Verizon and also offeres Phillies games, I will switch as soon as my contract expires. (Technically, the local channels only offer 159 Phillies games this season because Verizon does not carry The Comcast Network, but since 2 of the other games are against Washington, I can get those games on CSN-MA, so I can live with missing one game).
Champions League in std. def is a drag. We need FSC-HD!!!!!!!!!
A couple clarifications for people: FSC's standard def. feed improved when they launched HD because they began receiving the satellite signal in native HD, which clarified their rebroadcast SD pictures (just a cropped version of the HD signal with lower resolution), although it is still clearly SD. Worry not about the World Cup. As long as you have ESPN-HD and ABC-HD, you will receive all World Cup matches in High Definition (Disney has not said yet, but I presume the USA games will be aired on ABC).
Threatening to move to DirectTV is a little silly because DirectTV is affiliated with Verizon so Verizon will still get your money.
Fox Soccer Plus is being advertised as a premium channel, much like Setanta is now. FS+ will take over Premier League games from Setanta. Technically speaking, FSC already owns those rights, they simply lease them to Setanta because they cannot show two live games at once. Now they can. The only English competition Setanta has the rights to is the League Cup. With the final on Feb. 28, they will no longer have anything to show (I don't know if they are going off the air or not, but I don't watch rugby or the French Ligue 1 so I don't really care).
Lastly, I have not heard of Comcast considering FSC HD. Where I live, in *****-aware, the only provider that carries it is DISH network. I want to avoid satellite because I like watching TV when it is raining but may have no choice once the contract is up.
I will also vote with my wallet. If another provider offers FSC HD and Phillies games when my contract is up and Verizon still doesn't offer FSC HD, I will switch. Come on Verizon, what is taking so long!!!!!!!????????????

@fiostv on Twitter has said that they are actively negotiating for carriage of FSC HD. I guess agreeing on things like price, promotion, on demand content, etc is what's taking so long. Hopefully Verizon is able to actively get new channels groomed into the lineup while they negotiate. That way, they can turn it on as soon as a carriage agreement is in place.

I've just gotten off the phone with Verizon, and my channel package does have FSC HD (infact I just upgraded to Ultimate as well).
FSC HD and GOL TV HD are both here, but neither one is in HD.

What channel #s do you have for these statons? I have Channel 84 for FSC and 313 for GOL TV. These are NOT HD stations. Bob

FSC on 1522 is not the HD channel. It has been in that slot for a long time now. FSC HD will likely be channel 584, to mirror the SD version on channel 84.
Fox soccer channel in HD is over due, we pay premium for HD we deserve it. Why are we always behind Europe in technology,
SKY TV AND SETANTA have already supplied the games in HD so Verizon needs to wake up and add FSC & FSC+ TO HD CHANNELS. its the beautiful game so lets see it that way.
Ever since Fox Soccer HD logo has appeared on the screen here the picture has deteriorated a little in my opinion. I need to watch soccer badly and with all other sports available in Hi Def I don't get why we have to be left behind with this. I also have Fox Soccer Plus and same deal with pic there. I'm not sure if it's just my imagination but the picture if very poor on the big screen especially. I have seen another nameless provider supply the picture and only for your fast internet speed I'm sorry to say I'd be long gone. Just posting to get the updates on when this happens as come World Cup time I won't care about my internet speed at all.
I just found out about the Fox Soccer but was really disappointed to know that it is not available in hd on FIOS. Does Verizon really want to lead and serve the customers? World cup is here and I would love to see ESPN and Fox really competing for the crowd.

If you switch to cablevision they carry hd for fox soccer channel and fox channel plus
I just left Cablevision and while I didn't have FS Plus I can tell you that FSC was NOT in HD as of 2 weeks ago.
I dropped FiOS TV yesterday (still have FiOS internet). I have TWC for TV now and I get FSC, FS+, and GOLTV in HD. As soon as FiOS adds FSC and FS+ I'll be back.
