I get an error telling me I am not subscribed to HBO/FiOS TV/FiOS Internet. Anyone else get the same results?
(I actually am subscribed to these services)
I had the same issue last night when I tried to register for it. Not sure what the problem is..
The local Verizon office had a demonstraition on the HBO-Go this afternoon. looks cool.
The things that they say that are required....
1. Must have Verizon Fios Internet
2. Must have Verizon Fios TV + HBO subscription
3. Must have a valid verizon.net username and password
Here's the catch I found when I tried to sign up. You must be using your "primary" verizon username. You cannot sign up with a sub acct. Now once your primary id registers, THEN you sub accts will work. I never use my primary so I didnt think to use it. I just used my sub that I use everyday. So check that.
Also, HBO-Go only went live today, so it wouldnt let you sign in last night. Try again now as it is live.
One other thing I discovered that I dont like. HBO-Go only allows for 1 streaming video at a time. So if I'm streaming a Movie or show and my girlfried tries it will error out. Even if I am on my primary and she is on the sub. Only one stream per "acct" is allowed. At least with netflix I can stream all I want. But I'm not going to complain too loud for an additional free service added to what I already have.
Beyond HBO GO, what other online content is provided if I sign up for FiOS TV? Is there a listing online of what's available?
@sage wrote: Beyond HBO GO, what other online content is provided if I sign up for FiOS TV? Is there a listing online of what's available?
Actually, Verizon doesnt really have any online content at all. The online content is offered by several of the channels that Verizon carries and they offer their online content to Verizon customers. Right now the only ones I know are....
Those are the only ones that I know of at this time.
Same issue here...
I have Verizon FiOS internet.
I have Verizon FiOS TV + HBO subscription
I used my primary verizon.net username
But logging in to the HBO GO site says "Single Sign-On Error...To watch movies, you will need to subscribe to FiOS TV with HBO and FiOS Internet".
I do have the old Extreme HD package with HBO/Cinemax added. Maybe it requires the Ultimate HD package? Or, since they just launched the service, they may not have all the bugs worked out...
Still doesn't work for me..grr!!!!!!!!!
Finally got it to work!
I also can't login to HBOgo.com, I am a Fios TV / Internet user with HBO subscribed. I am on a new computer so I know that isn't the issue.
I get ID / Password is incorrect, however in another tab I am logged into the verizon site looking at my bill so I know the login works. I am the account holder in my house, no one else has login. So I guess it just doesn't work.
I have been having the same problem for several weeks and have made a couple of calls to verizon in the past without any results. tonight they told that the problem was a database problem on their end and they don't know when it will be fixed.
I tried to login and than it goes back to the login screen, but with a different user ID than the one I typed in which is res14tsx8.
It makes me think it has something to do with resolution settings as you would think that is what res would stand for, but how can my resolution settings affect my login.
Anybody have any advice?
I got the very expensive mailer today about HBOGO. I was actually happy to receive something from fios b/c when we're on vacation I can access the net, but TV is usually a problem. This service is actually something I'm looking forward to.
Then I remembered it is verizon and fios. Went to hbogo.com, tried to sign up using my verizon login info, and of course could not. A tiny square window in the middle of hbo.com, not even large enough to show everything on that page, kept refreshing w/ the user name and pw fields blank. Obviously I can log into verizon, cuz here I am, using the same credentials.
This is approximately the 77th item verizon has touted or advertised w/ expensive mailers that does not work, that is if it even exists. I will not call CS for this as that never (ever) helps anything other than shorten my lifespan.
Hey verizon, the time to advertise something is after you get it to work. I'm sure comcast is just as bad, so empty threats to switch are meaningless. Only in cable tv can a company be proud of a 49% customer satisfaction rate. Bravo.
When I try it, it just goes back to the tiny login screen (doesn't even show the whole page, have to scroll using arrows) with both fields blank. My advice is to first stop expecting it to work properly. Next, wait 6 - 12 months for verizon to figure it out. Lastly, don't expect it to work then either.
How can I view my primary account? When I login to my account I only see the sub-account. Where can I find the primary account so that I can register it on HBO Go?
I can't either!!! I'm so frustrated because I wasted the whole evening trying to figure it out.
Basically, we'll have to wait and call them between their normal call times. VZ Agent
was useless to me.
In my case, I went to hbogo.com, then I clicked Verizon Fios as my carrier. Then my page went right
to "signing in'...to my knowledge it's still trying to sign in. Tried everything.... 🙂
If I find out something tomorrow I'll letcha know. Good .luck
Unbelievable! I was able to login to HBO GO and watch about two weeks ago, but now, it's saying I have to subscribe to HBO, which I already have. Why can't V* deliver reliable web content? The only thing you can rely on is that more often than not, their web content will not work. I am really fed up with this! And of course, they won't display system issues on their mainsite, you have to search for it. WHY do we put up with this???
Was your login changed for the My Verizon 2.0 upgrade? This may be causing issues if your user name has changed at Verizon Central and or My Verizon.
Read this thread and it may shed some light on the problems.

I was able to create a login and use hbogo.com a few weeks ago. Just tried again, first time since, and it is telling me I need to subscribe to hbo. Been an hbo subscriber forever. Have the most extensive movie and sports packages available. I'm sure the well-intentioned person who asks if the upgrade changed your password truly wants to help. Of course, in order to help, one must be able to comprehend the problem. hbogo.com is not saying my user name and pw are incorrect, it is saying i don't subscribe to hbo.
of course, hbo is to blame, not verizon, unless you ask hbo, then it's verizon's fault.
why do we put up w/ it? because verizon thinks that a 49% customer satisfaction rating is something to brag about. and i guess it is when comcast is less than half that. i can't switch to direct tv because I have to have comcast sportsnet. Just have to. I hate verizon for all of these problems, and the fact they want me to pay extra for NFL Redzone. The alternative? I have to wait until my bundle contract is up and decide if I want to switch from a provider I absolutely hate to one I completely loathe.

It was not the password but the user name on the account. So when you attempt to log in it may not let you. Anything that used the verzion.com user name and not the verizon.net user name, may no longer work. So if your http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/ account was using say bob. and your verizon.net user name for your Email was UserLastname. You verizon.com was changed to User Lastname. I had the same issue where my forums.verizon.com login was my lastname and it match MYVerizon account. Well when MYVerizon 2.0 upgraded and changed my account name to match my primary verizon.net email account name of prisaz it said no you can not log in.
I wonder what happens when, and how easy it is to fix a database that has a few million accounts?
There's nothing for you to setup. You have a verizon.net e-mail whether you use it or not. As I said before, like you, I too was able to login to HBO Go before and now I can't. What I didn't realize was that I logged in with my .net id, not my .com id. Thankfully, I can still login with the .net id
BTW, I can't use my .net ID to login to the forums anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this is acceptable in any way, but I sure don't have time to waste with V* to get everything to work with both IDs or to actually merge my accounts. I know that at some point, I'll probably be forced into this, but for now, I'll deal with managing to IDs.
Check out this thread if it still seems like a different language:
http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-TV-Technical-Assistance/HBO-Go-and-other-FTVOnline-services-not-working/m-p/236719/highlight/true#M21965
Lo and Behold! HBO GO worked today. So the formula is to wait for a verizon update, give them a couple of weeks to fix the screw ups they caused in that update, and then continue using a feature. Seems to be true for everything except media manager, which they will never get working properly. And if they do, I'll always be too scared to try it again.
BTW, still watching the clock on my bundle duration. Seriously considering changing just for NFL Redzone. Making me pay more for that when I subscribe to every possible package is a slap in the face.
Not to be whiny, but it's partially fixed. If you login with your .com account, you should no longer see messages about subscribing to a package you already have. If you subscribe to HBO and click the HBO Go link it now redirects you to the HBO Go site and logs you in without prompting for anoter ID.
However, if you go directly to the HBO Go site, you'll need to use the V* ID you used to register for HBO Go, most likely the v*.net id. In my case, when I go direct to HBO Go, I have to use the V*.net id and password. If I login through v*.com, i can use either of my IDs to launch HBO Go.
Since HBO Go is a third-party system, I understand this current disconnect, but it sure would have been appreciated if this was communicated by V* more effectively.
HBO Go was working for me for weeks. Then I upgraded my account to the Ultimate HD. I tried logging in to HBO GO and get the error,
To watch movies, you will need to subscribe to HBO.Order HBO online now.
How can Verizon be allowed to stay in business if they can't get something so simple correct?
This is the SINGLE most frustrating experience I've had. Verizon is worse than a Utility Company. At least with my power company, I get a competent person on the phone that can actually help.
Does anyone from Verizon monitor this forum, or is this just a place to allow "the customer" to vent and theoretically "feel better"?
I am having this same problem. I am a Fios subscriber, have HBO/Cinemax/Shotime/Starz etc. and nope... I cannot at all sign up for an HBO GO account. It's pretty frustrating, please advise.
I had the exact same problem and felt the EXACT same way. But then I realized that you have to login into comcast or Verizon, which ever one you get the HBO through. Then, you'll be directed to another page and you have to choose a new id and use a separate email. I don't know why, but this is how I was finally able to log in!
You have to use the username and password that successully logs you into your Verizon email account at this URL:
http://webmail.verizon.com/signin/LdapBind.jsp
If you signed up for Fios service before Verizon make their annoying account update and forced you to choose a new username, then this could be the username that you had on the old verizon account and not the username you use to log into your Verizon account now.
If you don't remember that username, go to the URL above and select 'forgot username' or 'forgot username and password' and you can recover that old username.
Try that when logging into HBO GO.
Yes, this is totally stupid and annoying and Verizon should fix it but it did work for me. Hope it works for you.
i still can't sign in. i've tried logging in from the verizon site as well, and i get the same msg. it asks me if i want to sign up for hbo online, when i click yes, it tells me i can't b/c i'm already signed up for hbo.
this is the first msg i get: to watch movies, you will need to subscribe to hbo. order hbo online now.
then i get this: Your existing subscription does not qualify you to purchase this package.
i never changed my user name, and i have fios telephone/internet/cable and have the package with hbo/showtime/tmc/cinemax.
i get the same msg rather going directly to hbogo website or verizon website
I have the same issue - can't login to HBO GO. It was working fine up to 3 weeks ago, a couple of channels were added to my package, and now nothing works. Customer Service cannot get this fixed. What is the deal here?
I have tried to log in with every username that I can think of. I have my verizon name that starts with the vze..., I have my main account name, I even created a sub account knowing that everyone here said subaccounts don't work but I did it thinking "I have nothing to lose".
I try to log in with any of those 3 names and it always tells me that I need to subscribe to HBO. I have been subcribed to HBO since coming to Verizon 3 years ago. I have always had an @verizon.net account so apparently am un-affected by the v*.com mess that has been already discussed. So for fun I clicked the link that says "Sign up for HBO" but I'm told that I'm already signed up for HBO.
It's been suggested here that we go to the main verizoncentral page, sign in there and then try the hbo go site. That doesnt work. It's been suggested going to the tv line at the bottom of the main page, that doesnt work. I tried it in IE 8, IE7, Firefox and Chrome (I'm at work right now, I have 2 computers in front of me). The mobile Android app doesn't work either.
I believe that I have tried every method and suggestion posted here in on these forums yet I still cannot log in.
Just switched to Verizon from Comcast and cannot open HBO Go because it says my email address is already attached to an existing account. How do I close out the account so I can use HBO Go through Verizon. I am a bit more than frustrated since I really like using HBO Go.
I just got off with chat support about not being able to log into hbogo.
It seems the usernames I have been trying to use are all wrong. They have a username for me that I have never even heard of.
I've tried two user names and passwords, hbo.com, hbogo.com nothing works and Verizon told me it's HBOs problem, but I subscribe through them. Someone else told me it is because I have a business account for my internet connection and residential TV and phone - all through FIOS. Not sure why they care who I have internet with if I log into my residential account and have HBO. If anyone knows the answer please let me know.
Did you iniitially go through the fios site?
https://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/members/FTVOnline.aspx?PName=OnDemand
For the first time when I try to sign in the sign in box immediately turns all gray with the text "Not Supported Method" at the top in white html text. Refreshing the page doesn't help and I can't think of what to do. Anyone experience any similar problems?
I am getting the same type issues, however I have logged in and used HBOgo from this computer just last night. Same primary account, no other users on. Its bizzare how inconsistent the service is. It had done something similar on my DROID but started working consistently with no problem. Verizon must have some issues or bugs to work out because I had just used this and now, all of a sudden, it wont work. Anyone else experience something similar?
I'm new to FIOS TV and wasn't aware that HBO GO is offered through the FIOS DVR; as an HBO subscriber, I already watch it on my iPad using my Verizon sign-in. The problems in this thread notwithstanding, how does one access HBO GO through the STB/DVR?
i posted back in july and still can't access hbo go. i can access max go just fine. i've contacted verizon twice still with no resolution.
I was having this same issue until about 5 mins ago.
I actually got a fantastic rep on the live chat. He noted that I was not logging in with my primary user id (which I had no idea what it was and had never even used). Once he verified my info, he gave me the primary user id and a temp password, as soon as I logged into Verizon with the temp password it made me change it. I immediately went to HBO Go to try to login with the new user id and password and I was able to get in with no problems.
If you are getting the message that you are not subscribed to HBO when you try to login, contact Verizon and ask them if you are using your primary login id or not.
Running VZ_Activation fixed it. The FIOS guys either didn't run it or ran it wrong, yet I had service on internet and cable.
It cost me 3 hours including 40 min with tech support accesing my computer for them to come up with this.
You also need a VERIZON.NET account...i had a verizon.com account, but did not have an activated verizon.net account. Make sure to do this, and hopefully this will solve a lot of people's problems. VERIZON.COM and VERIZON.NET are two separate things, but they will link tgether, and the VERIZON.NET account is the HBOGO uses.
From my experience, the issue comes from the user id. Most people that have this problem had a VZ username prior to setting up their FiOS TV service and they are trying to use that username, without having done the activation via the website with their order number.
So if that sounds like it might be you, then go to http://activate.verizon.net and use your order number and zip code to complete the activation OR you can use your generic vze user id that verizon establishes for you when you sign up for TV and Internet through fios, OR you "should" be able to do it with your email address, and then you should be able to use your FiOS TV Online services.
Please try it and report back if it's still giving you an issue.
Same problem here! I was using it fine until about a week ago it told me to subscribe.
The only thing that changed is I signed up to move our services to our new place on July 30th. but it still includes HBO.
I can't figure it out or find any answers.
Thank you--my problem was a different sign in name. I really appreciate your help!
Verizon's login page for HBO Go is broken again in devices running Android 5.0. At least, the Verizon login page refreshes constantly (every 0.5-1.0 seconds), which obviously prevents you from entering your username and password.
I noticed this problem only impacts Verizon. The login pages for the other service providers work fine. Whoever runs the auth.verizon.com authentication server really needs to get his/her act together. We have problems like this every time there's a new Android version. It really shouldn't be that hard to write HTML and Javascript code that doesn't break constantly.
Among the things that are needed to get the signins to work on a PC are
Android version appears to work fine upto KITKAT. May be broken with LOLLIPOP.
Right- the login page works fine on kitkat, but it's broken on lollipop.
