For the past two weeks, BBC America On Demand hasn't been updated.
According to the BBC America On Demand Web Site it has been kept up to date and shows more recent programming than FIOS' BBC America On Demand.
Why is this so???
When comes to on Demand BBC provides us the cotent and the updates. I am not sure if they keep some things just for the website or provide us slower updates than they do on the website. What I can do is check all of our video serving stations to ensure they all are updated to the same extinct. Is there a particular show I can check for you?

Regarding BBC OnDemand...I was wondering, since the addition of BBC-HD is not possible at the moment, is there a way that FIOS might be able to add BBC OnDemand in HD? (Something similar to what is currently being done with FEARNet...we have the standard channel, but there is also an HD OnDemand option.) It would certainly be nice to have something to tide viewers over until the day that the HD channel can actually be provided.'
film 11, great idea for BBC HD On Demand, until we get BBCA HD ! I hope they go for it. Missing a lot of good shows in HD from the BBC, ie Top Gear, Dr. Who, Being Human etc, etc.
John
I'm a fan of the series Being Human and would appreciate its being updated weekly.
Thanks!
This probem has been addressed and solved as the BBC America On Demand has been updated. Three weeks of programming in one fell swoop.
Thanks.
@Aleah wrote:I just switched to Fios, from Comcast.I was told by the rep who signed me up, that the on-demand options would be identical, since both companies use the same 3rd party. Not true!Neither company has BBC America in HD, but Comcast DOES offer BBC America HD on demand.
It's possible that there is not yet an greement with BBC for them to provide HD OnDemand content. For example, FIOS carried the IFC channel in HD, and also has some IFC HD content OnDemand. But we don't get IFC Theater for the PPV OnDemand. IFC does have contracts with other providers, so a current film like SUPER is available to watch (for the usual fee, I think). But not yet with FIOS, so those films aren't available OnDemand (not even in SD.) . See, there are so many options these days, PPV, streaming, dowenloads, OnDemand, VuDu, etc. etc....and they might all need different agreements.
Hopefully, both will be forthcoming at some point...but who knows?
I've been hoping to catch Episode 6 of The Hour on On Demand but it still hasn't posted. The BBC Website says it is out there. Why the delay, Verizon? Thanks....
Is BBC America On Demand actually available to FIOS customers? I cannot find it anywhere, and the last postings I see on this topic are from 2011. The BBC America On Demand web site (http://www.bbcamerica.com/the-hour/extras/watch-the-hour-on-demand-now/) says that Verizon FIOS carries it.
Because I'm a TiVo user, I would have to access On Demand content through my PC, and I've installed the FIOS app and authorized my PC, but I can't find anything from BBC America On Demand.
Has this provider been eliminated? If not, how can I get to it?
Hey Mel,
Make sure that BBC America is included in your package. It doesn't come with the Prime level. You have to upgrade to Extreme. That was one of the main reasons I had to upgrade from Prime. Now I find that even though I pay extra to watch BBC HD, when I go to On Demand BBC is only available in SD. Very annoying, Fios.
EastPhilly,
Thank you for replying and for the suggestions. I've checked--my package includes BBC America and BBC America HD (I have the Ultimate HD package). But when I look at the available On Demand channels, BBC America is not listed. Here's the complete list, according to the FIOS TV section of the FIOS web site after I log on to My Verizon:
WatchESPN, TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network, TBS, TruTV, HBO GO, ShowTime Anytime, MaxGo, and Epix.
Still, it's possible that BBC America On Demand may actually be available to me, especially if it is available to you (even in SD, better than nothing).
My problem may be just that I haven't figured out how to navigate the PC online version of the FIOS software to even FIND the On Demand channels. Since I'm using a TiVo instead of the FIOS set-top box or DVR, my only option for accessing On Demand is through my PC. Do you, or anyone else, have some tips for me there? I'm usually very good with this kind of thing, but I am unable to locate a path to listing shows available through any of these On Demand services.
Mel
