ESPN 3D april 5, ch 1002

finally ESPN 3D coming Apr 5. BUT required HD Ultimate package. Hopefully VZ will offer some free previews. Not sure if the amount of 3D is worth $15/month Ultimate as compared to HD Extreme pkg

First, we expect to launch ESPN 3D on Tuesday, April 5, on channel 1002, just in time for the Masters Golf tournament. With 3D, it’ll be the next best thing to walking over the pine needles with patrons at the Augusta National Golf Club.

ESPN 3D can be viewed by customers who have a 3D TV set, 3D glasses and a high-definition set-top box. The new channel is included for any FiOS TVcustomer who subscribes to our Ultimate HD package, and is available to everyone else on its own for $9.99 per month.

almost all the new big screens that I have looked at when shopping were 3d capable. so there are a ton of people that have and want it, plus this was an agreed upon station last year, so the the space was already reserved for it.

Just for ESPN 3d, probably not. ESPN 3d will also be available for an addtional $9.99 a month.

But, of course, with Ultimate you get a number of other channels, MGM HD, Hallmark Movie Channel, Epix channels, Showtime channels, The Movie Channels, additoinal Sports channels, etc.

I could NOT care less about this channel and I am a HUGE Masters fan. I do not own a 3D TV nor do I know anyone who owns one and unless I am wrong (and have been before) if you don't own a 3D TV this channel is useless. 3D is another passing fad that I am not going to waste my money on. Just wish Verizon would STOP wasting its valuable QAM space on channels nobody will watch (see those .tv garbage channels) and actually ADD the HD channels it's viewer really want.

Remember, you can always switch providers if you are not satisfied with your FiOS service. FiOS is not the only provider in town.
